These consulting services are designed to get your critical projects off to a quick start with a short and highly productive Requirements Discovery Session - with your Clients - using The Information Architecture Group's Best Business Requirements Practices™.
Led by a senior consultant, these intensive sessions with the project's business managers can often be completed within three to five days depending on the scope of the project. Immediately following the session, a precise, accurate and concise deliverable is produced - ready for technical design and development, or the creation of a Request for Proposal to be issued to outside firms.
For all projects, the consultants work directly with the IT
support staff, providing coaching & mentoring on the Best Business Requirements
Practices™ . Our objective is two-fold - ensure the results are accomplished for the
project and work with the analysts and project leaders so the next time they can do
it on their own - with a precedent of positive results from enthusiastic users.
Options
The Information Architecture Group offers three simple and cost effective approaches to starting that next mission-critical project:
Facilitation of a Requirements Discovery Session: Have a Senior Consultant facilitate this business requirements gathering session - with your 'certified' documentation practitioner responsible for the documentation and deliverable.
A Senior Consultant will act as the facilitator, guiding subject matter experts through the definition of their requirements. Applying Best Business Requirements Practices™ , the consultant will:
- Lead the session through practical questioning and analysis techniques applying this unique and proven approach
- Manage the group dynamics - keeping the participants focused and on track
Our experts, qualified in best practices have the
experience to avoid the elephant traps. As outside consultants, they have the advantage of
being perceived by users as completely unbiased - with no 'corporate baggage' and no
hidden agendas. They are able to ask questions that internal people cannot, and they are
able to present a perspective of the business that is not prejudiced by current practices.
Production of the Requirement Specification Deliverable: A Senior Consultant will be responsible for the complete documentation and production of the deliverable while you conduct the Discovery Session. In addition to producing immediate and tangible results, the consultant also plays an active role as coach & mentor to the IT analysts during this phase of the project.
During the session the Senior Consultant will record all the business needs from the group's discussion and capture all the models, diagrams, and narratives - to produce the deliverable at the end of (or any point during) the session.
Full Discovery Session Support: The Information Architecture Group will conduct the session and produce the Business Requirements Specification. Two consultants will ensure immediate and successful results.
